Free · Real fetch · A fix for every finding
Why isn't my website on Google?
Paste your address. We fetch the page the way a search engine does and tell you exactly what's stopping it: noindex tags, robots rules, server errors, redirect chains, a canonical pointing elsewhere, a missing sitemap, or simply that nobody has asked Google yet.
The checker
Ten seconds to the reason.
What gets checked
Everything between your server and Google's index.
Can Google reach it?
Server errors, password walls, bot blocks, redirect loops and long redirect chains.
Is it told not to?
noindex meta tags, X-Robots-Tag headers, and robots.txt rules that block Googlebot.
Does it point elsewhere?
A canonical tag naming another address makes Google index that one instead.
Does Google know it exists?
Sitemap present, listed in robots.txt, includes this page; title and heading in place.
After the check
The two steps only you can do.
Search site:yourdomain.com
If nothing appears, Google hasn't indexed any page yet. If pages appear but not the one you wanted, it's a ranking question, not an indexing one.
Add the site to Search Console
Google's free dashboard. It shows, page by page, whether something is indexed and why not. Ten minutes, step by step in our guide.
Request indexing
URL inspection → Request indexing on the home page. Then submit the sitemap. Then wait: days, not minutes.
The usual suspect
"Hide from search engines" is on, and nobody remembers switching it.
Wix, Squarespace, WordPress and Shopify all have a per-page switch that adds a noindex tag, and a whole-site version for "coming soon" mode. It gets turned on during the build and never off. We find it on roughly a third of the sites people check here, and it takes one click to fix. The checker shows the exact tag so you can search your settings for it.

Ranked by severity
Blockers first, weaknesses second, notes last.

Questions
My site is new. How long until Google shows it?
Days to a few weeks for the home page once Google knows it exists; longer for inner pages. Submitting a sitemap in Search Console and requesting indexing for the home page is the fastest start.
The check says nothing is wrong, but I still can't find my site
Then it's not technical. Either Google hasn't crawled it yet (request indexing), or it's indexed but ranks far down for the words you searched. Try searching your exact business name, or site:yourdomain.com.
What does noindex mean?
A tag or header on the page telling search engines not to list it. Site builders add it when a page is set to 'hidden from search' or when a whole site is still in a 'coming soon' mode. It's the single most common cause we find.
Does this check the whole site?
It checks the page you enter plus the site's robots.txt and sitemaps. Run it on the home page first, then on any inner page that's missing.
Is it safe to paste my URL here?
Yes. The check fetches public pages the way a browser would. Nothing is stored except an anonymous count of checks.
